Service Description

In this three day workshop, students will begin with close observational studies of a still life set up. Time will be spent considering the composition, exploring colour relationships and paying attention to form, tone, temperature, line and shadow. We will make tonal and coloured sketches in oil. We will look at the compositional idea of the 'notan', colour mixing and paint application, as well as consider scale and viewpoint. Students will move on to recreating these compositions from memory, creating simple distillations or wild reinventions. Decisions will have to be made regarding colour, composition and gesture, and memory will combine with intuition to create imaginative paintings rooted in the observed world.

Cancellation Policy

All Cancellations must be made in writing to Merrie Curtiss -Fuller at this address, Holly Farm, Brisley Road, Horningtoft, Dereham, Norfolk, NR20 5DS. Cancellations will be subject to a cancellation fee of £30. If cancellation is received less than 5 weeks before the start of the course, your deposit will be forfeited. I regret I cannot make refunds for bookings which you cancel after the final balance has been paid. Final balance is due no later than 5 weeks before the course. I reserve the right to cancel the course if insufficient bookings are received, I will inform you of this at the earliest opportunity and in this event the monies will be refundable in full.
